Gilad Barabi

Gilad Barabi's musical journey began at age four with the piano, eventually leading him to study Jazz at the Thelma Yellin High School For Arts. Following his service in the IDF's Air Force Band, he pursued private composition studies with Rafi Kadishson before enrolling at a special excellence program in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He recently graduated with distinction from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Trinity College scholar.

As a composer, Gilad seeks to blur the boundaries between traditional musical categories, synthesizing contemporary concert music with electronic production. His work explores the impact of technology on modern life while remaining deeply rooted in his Jewish tradition. His music has been performed by prominent ensembles and soloists, including The Israel Camerata, MIVOS Quartet, Riot Ensemble, and the Carmel Quartet.

Beyond composition, Gilad works as a Music Tech Assistant for figures such as Gabriel Prokofiev and Sam Hayden, designing interactive installations and electronic setups. He is the lead singer and producer for the band Jaklin and the composer and performer of the biblical rock opera Prophets. A dedicated educator, Gilad has taught over 100 students privately and in established institutions, having lectured at the Jerusalem Academy and at Junior Trinity.
