Gilad Barabi

Gilad Barabi's musical journey began at age four with the piano, eventually leading him to study Jazz at the Thelma Yellin High School For Arts. Following his service in the IDF's Air Force Band, he pursued private composition studies with Rafi Kadishson before enrolling at a special excellence program in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He recently graduated with distinction from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Trinity College scholar.

As a composer, Gilad seeks to blur the boundaries between traditional musical categories by synthesizing contemporary concert music with electronic production. His work explores the impact of technology on modern life while remaining deeply rooted in his Jewish heritage. His music has been performed by prominent ensembles and soloists, including The Israel Camerata, MIVOS Quartet, Riot Ensemble, The Third Orchestra, and the Carmel Quartet, among others. Gilad is also the leader of 'Pangea', a multicultural contemporary music project promoting cross-cultural dialogue.

Beyond his work in the concert hall, Gilad is an active pop musician; he leads the disco band 'Jaklin' and the biblical rock opera 'Prophets', and works as a keyboardist and computer programmer for various artists. Additionally, he serves as a Music Tech Assistant for figures such as Gabriel Prokofiev and Sam Hayden, designing interactive installations and electronic setups. A dedicated educator, Gilad has taught over 100 students privately and within established institutions, including lecturing at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and Junior Trinity.
